Mostly router have its web based configuration tool. Try to allow the port and ip adress. It works.

The first thing is to look at the application you want to use, and find out what it needs to work properly.

Once you are armed with that information you can simply go to the admin of the router and configure it accordingly. Read the manual for instructions of how to set up your particular product.

Hi, Many thanks for the replies, i know how to get into my browser cofiguration but dont know what im doing to be honest with you,
the info i have from the ps2 game suppliers is as follows,
hope you can help please

FIFA 2004 requires the following ports to be open on your firewall, both inbound and outbound.

TCP 13505: this is used by BuddyList/IM server
TCP 10400 - 10499
TCP 443: used to access Sony DNAS server. This is a standard https port
UDP 3658/3659: these are the main game ports
UDP 6000/6001: VOIP ports

If you are playing behind a router, the ports listed in bold above must also be forwarded to the IP address of your PlayStation®2

Look for something called port forwarding,or port triggering. Usually they are located somewhere in the advanced rules settings. All you need to do is enter the port numbers you want open into the TCP tabs. In my router, there are tables like in an Excel spreadsheet. I simply enter the number of the ports I want to forward and click "enable" by the little TCP box. Your router will probably have something similar.

Post back and tell me what you see if you get lost. Let me know what P2P program you are using and I can probably tell you the port numbers to forward.

good luck

Yeah that stuff really doesn't help me. You owners manual should have a section on "port forwarding" or "port filtering". If not read the section on the NAT firewall configuration. Have you tried the manufactures website?

If you really just want to play games you can enable the DMZ, but that is pretty much turning your router off.

There should be a section in your configuration to enter port numbers. There should be something saying "TCP" and "UDP' as these are the protocols that your computer is using to talk to other computers.

You want to enable your computer to receive "TCP" and "UDP" packets at the ports you listed. Only direction I know to point you in is to look for a place to enter port numbers.

- Use the following form to add special port that you want to be opened for your special application

Private Port
Port Type
Host IP Address

TCP
UDP

Settings need to be saved to Flash and the system needs to be rebooted for changes to take effect.

Host IP address is your current IP address.

Port type is TCP and UDP. My guess is that you enter the port numbers you want into this form in the "Private Port" section.

If you want to recieve TCP/UDP packets at port 6882 enter:

Private Port 6882

If you want to forward a range of ports show them as this: 6882-8000. That will allow all the port numbers between those numbers to be forwarded.

Once you enter those port numbers save the settings and restart the computer. Hope that helps you some. It's kinda hard since I've never used your router.

good luck

Ok you have a router? Yes?

What is the IP address of the router? (DONT TELL ME!!)

Now open a browser and type http:// and then stick the IP address here. You may need to add a special port to connect properly

What router are you using?
