1 Click Spyclean Uses Stolen Spybot Database

Posted at Net-Integration today:

This is a warning to all. Please pass this information forward to others . This application mentioned below is using a database that was stolen from SpybotS&D . This was suspected and reported by a malware expert, and has been confirmed by myself and Patrick. The databse is stolen.

1 Click Spy Clean

Whether this company actually stole it or purchased it from someone else who did has yet to be establshed. But that is no matter.

A scan produces two detections which are presented very much unique to SpybotS&D:

Alexa Related
DSO Exploit

But in addition to that I have a couple other methods available to verify as does Patrick. Our tests confirmed with absolute certainty that the database came from Safer-Networking, LTD (SpybotS&D) .

I think they need to be informed about the error of their ways although I suggest without threats or nasty flaming. If folks have a desire to contact them here is their contact page http://es.1clickspyclean.com/contact.htm
