I must have gotten a virus on Kazaa or something. All my MP3, AVI, MOV, MPEG, JPG, GIF files have been split in two. The file with the original name contains 0 MB. The file with the real size listed ends in TIF. Is there way to recombine these or fix them? It's a shame because I have about 40 GB of stuff that's now unusable. The virus was so smart it even set my Windows Explorer to hide these files so it took me a while to find them.

try an online scan at
http://housecall.antivirus.com/
or at
panda online antivirus scan
once you identify the virus, it might be easier to find a fix.

That is what some virus types do, they make a copy of the filename to hide the virus in the copy, the originals will be deleted and most of the time the files are lost.
It looks like a worm virus

The best advice I can give you is find out the name of the virus and look for a removal tool at www.nai.com.

Be sure you get all of the infected files while these kinds of viruses spread very fast and are a pain to get rid of.
They intend to mail themselves as well to everyone in your personal address book
