Hey Everyone,
Two nights ago I came home and booted up my computer, and everything was working fine. About a half-hour later, at least four programs were installed on my computer automatically (porn and like), and I went into Add/Remove programs to get rid of them. I successfully got rid of all four and on the last one it told me to restart my computer to conclude the uninstall. When I restarted the computer, it went into a restart loop that it has been stuck in ever since. It will go all the way up to the Windows "Welcome" screen, and then will re-start. The computer is 200 GB Hard Drive, P4 2.8, 1 GB RAM running Windows XP Professional.
If anyone has any suggestions on what I should do, that would be really helpful! I'm hoping that I haven't lost any files especially since I didn't back them up :(.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Start the PC in 'safe mode' then run your anti-virus program. If you can download Ad-Aware or Spybot (ideally both) on another PC to a CDRW or memory stick to load onto your PC then run that too.
In safe mode only the basic drivers will be loaded and with a bit of luck, your bug will NOT get loaded.Safemode......
Start the PC and keep tapping the F8 key. Select safe mode from the options and press the enter key.Running your AV program will have a better chance of clearing out the virus.
To get out of safe mode, just restart the PC normally.

Hey michael2,
Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting it into safe mode, and was able to remove the viruses with Spybot, Pest Patrol, and Hijack This. But once I reboot, I am still having the "reboot looping" problem.
If you have any more advice for me, that would be great!
Thanks

I got my computer to work!!! Right after I posted the previous message, I pressed F8, and chose "Last Known Good Configuration" and everything is working now. I didn't loose any files either.
Thanks for your help Michael2. I really appreciate it!

What if you can't get your PC into safe mode? I had the same initial problem, but I can't even get it into safe mode before it restarts. I took the hard drive out and connected it to another computer with anti-virus software, and no virus was found. Every time I run Adaware it locks up on the system32 folder. Any ideas?
