Comment:

My laptop has been "sickened" with VBS/Psyme virus, and I can't remove it using McAfee anti-virus. Even though McAfee finds the infected files (in Temporary Internet Files directory), it says that it can't remove them.

Does anyone know what I can do to remove these files?

Thanks,
Mike

I had the same virus Mike, McAfee caught the virus before it could execute on my system, but couldn't delete or quarantine it. In the end I had to empty ALL the content of the Temporary Internet Files Folder (where it was residing) to get rid of it.

This might help too

After you've done that make sure you do another scan in safe mode and maybe run ad-aware and spybot to be on the safe side.

Hope That Helps.

hi mike,
aside from the above good info, why not try downloading a free 30 day trial of Hauri anti-virus, it will repair all infectected files.
all the best,
murve
