Removing mIRC

Does anyone know how to remove mIRC? It was apparently installed as part of a IRC trojan. mIRC starts up automatically whenever the notebook is rebooted. There's no reference to the program in Add/Remove Programs. There's no listing in the Start Menu > Program Files. I've searched for all references to mIRC in the registry and deleted them but the program still loads up. Anyone know how to remove this stealth program and prevent it from booting up? Thanks for any help.

At this point since you have taken out some registration entries (of which one should never do as program files do not always start with their names or make reference to the actual program itself), I would just download the mIRC program. This is their site for the version 6 which I assume you have. Then it will overwrite what you didn't get uninstalled on your own and it will put it in add/remove. Comes out easy that way. http://www.mirc.com/get.html

http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_98963.htm get a free firewall such as zone alarm and don't allow any connections besides the ones you use. this will at least stop it from connecting to an irc bot,and running ddos attacks,or other hacks to your pc.

I have reinstalled the mIRC application and removed it using ADD/REMOVE but it continues to open upon bootup. Any other suggestions on its removal is appreciated.
