Just found out that I have the virus Bloodhound.Exploit.6 on my computer and am unclear on how to approach this issue or remove it. I am using Norton AV and Firewall and looked up the issue on symantec, but am unclear about what to do. I have all current updates for Norton and windows update.
The site address for info on Bloodhound.Exploit.6 is: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/bloodhound.exploit.6.html
It also gives an address at the bottom on "removal instructions" at this site: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms04-013.mspx
The above site gives updates for outlook express (I guess this is the issue with Bloodhound.Exploit.6)? I am using windows xp with sp2 along with outlook express 6.0, but there are no updates for this. The only update that there is, is for outlook express 5.5 with sp2?
I tried the download listed as: outlook express 6, but after the download it tells me that I must be using that version in order for it to install. So... this version must not be for sp2.
Anyone know what I can do about this issue?
Thanks in advance, elknarps

Try this site, it should provide you with all the steps you need to resolve the problem

The microsoft patch and the cleaning of browser cache didn't help in stopping the virus warning, in my case.
But i noticed that the warning happens only when i open the mozilla firefox browser. It doesn't pop up with IE. NAV couldn't find it with xp in normal mode. I ran NAV in safemode and it detected the exploit.6 and java.bytever.b virus. It failed to delete the exploit.6 though.
I uninstalled the firefox (after downloading the new version of course) making sure that no mozilla files remained in the Document and Settings folder. Then I reinstalled the new version of Firefox.
It's gone!!!!
