are any of those things in your add/remove?

You could try running this free on-line scan:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php
remove all it finds

One more thing you might try is to D/L Avast free to your desktp, disable AVG, install Avast and let it do a bootscan on reboot.

The Avast has something very anoying! The
Avast on Access Scanner Message. Anytime i open the browser outlook a text document or whatever it pops up from bottom of screen and is very anoying! It has to be disabled if it can't be then avast has to go! The scan is complete. How in the name of Beelzebub do i view the results? And the X-Cleaner it stops responding. I hit ctrl alt delete and in task mgr it shows it not responding. Thanks for all your help anyway. I just need those things gone from msconfig. Like i said all are removed from add/remove but the leftover is still in msconfig. Thats why i origanilly posted a Hijack this and someone removed it for some unknown reason.

Thanks

HJT log is by invitation only. You were warned when you first posted it, were you not?

Not silly but necessary to maintain control! I gather you don't bother to read & heed THIS PROMPT when you first attempted to post a HJT. If you don't like it here, you're free to go wherever you want.

No you haven't offended me at all - don't worry about it.

Perhaps you posted HJT log as a followup post to your thread without being asked by CN expert. If this is what happened it gets deleted anyway. AFAIK we do not have any HJT log expert on this board. The last expert - Jabuck - apparently has left for good.

In retrospect, Justin (CN webmaster) got fed up with too many uninvited HJT logs. He then directed KTTD the moderator (I haven't seen him around lately) to implement the change in this thread.

Well 65 miles is close enough. Isn't that where your ISP is?

Aside from both of your spat in the last 4 posts,

I'm not understanding what you mean about Avast.
I never heard about {The Avast has something very anoying! The
Avast on Access Scanner Message. Anytime i open the browser outlook a text document or whatever it pops up from bottom of screen and is very anoying!}

What are you saying? You mean when Avast up-dates and the blue screen slides up? You don't have to check it....it is just letting you know that the updates are done, as they are done in real-time, not by scheduling.

{And the X-Cleaner it stops responding.}
That is the time it is taking to update the definitions before it starts, let it load and then remove all it finds

The Avast. Its not what your saying. Whats poping up takes the whole bottom of screen. Its very anoying. And i did a scan with Avast but could not figure out how to get the results. And the X-Cleaner never did load it never responded i left it for 10 mins and it was closed when i got back. See this about the avast.

Also this

Thats what i mean and now i know how to fix it.

Thanks

Thanks for posting back....I've never heard or experienced that before, and all you did was install avast and let it do a bootscan?
Strange!!!!

Sounds to me like you never had avast do the bootscan. I really don't understand how you are doing this scan...sorry.

It's all straight forward to me, so I really am at a loss. After the bootscan, there is no need to schedule any scans as the AV works and alerts you in real-time of upcoming viruses and problems, giving you options to abort the connection or moving the problem to the chest.

You may try going into safe mode and then running the x-cleaner. It cleans out some real tough stuff.

The bootscan you mean the memory test? Not sure what your refering to. But if it was the memory test its all clean nothing found.
I got to get those things out of msconfig. They are driveing me nuts. They are unchecked it just bugs me them being there.

Thanks

The bootscan was explained in response 1. It is not a memory test. You had an option to do a bootscan when you first installed Avast, it would have cleaned out your boot sector.

Now for the entries D/L RegscrubXP:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download....
and delete all it finds.
You may want to do the same with CCleaner, check for issues and delete all it finds.

Regscrub requires Windows 5.0 or later. I am useing windows 98 SE. I never saw an option for bootscan. I just double checked by uninstalling and reinstalling.

and delete all the entries you no longer have.

WOW your going to think this is strange. I looked under the startup tab on regclean. There are not any of the bad things listed. But there still in the msconfig. This is so strange i am stumped.
I just found out its still infected. I got magic antispy witch IS spyware. Also got a red X in system tray when i move the mouse over it it saids my computer is infected. Also getting a message box poping up saying my computer is infected and i need to install some program can't remember what. But if i check those things in msconfig some of them are still in the computer some are not. If there checked i get a message about a missing DLL. I have more problems than a squirl on an 8 lane highway. I am just about to the point of reformatting. This is just takeing too long. Also yahoo antispy found a trojan that Avast didn't find. I cannot figure out how to view the results on Avast. The trojan name is Nebular S its a downloader. That explains the majic Antispy wanting me to get the fullversion. Also explains the red X saying my computer is infected. I have looked in Add/Remove and no Magic Antispy is listed. Also looked in start menue and its not there. I would check C:/WINDOWS program files but im not sure what folder its in. But i don't think it would be safe to just delete the folder. Like i said i have more problems than a squirl on an 8 lane Highway.
Thanks
