Removed a virus, HP won't boot .dll

Specs: Windows XP
I was using to watch movies online. When I clicked on a link to view the movie I got a warning from FireFox : This is a known attack site (followed by two options) Get me out of here or Ignore the warning. I hit get me out of here, but it was too late. I immediately ran spybot search and destroy (freeware) and Bit Defender (freeware) anti-virus. it caught a virus and said it had been successfully deleted. So I power off and headed off to bed.

When I tried to reboot I got stuck in a continual loop. It will get to the WinXp loading screen then it just loops back.

I have an HP and it has the built in system recovery (F10) on system restart/start. I tried this option only to get the message;

File \minint\system32\KDCOM.DLL could not be loaded.
The error code is 14

setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.

since it has this option there are no WinXP setup disk!?!

When I try to load it into "Safe Mode" I get this message;

Setup cannot load the keyboard layout file KBDUS.DLL.
Setup cannot continue. Shut Down or restart your computer.

Now i don't know what to do? This is my main 120GB Hard drive and I need to get it working again. Is there a way for me to set up this HDD as a slave drive and manually add the .DLL files it says are missing above?

IF that is not an option what are my options as far as retrieving my data off the HDD? I really need to get the drive working, saving the info and reinstalling xp is my last option. I'd like to add the files manually or be directed to a program that can do so.

I do need help. I can do a lot with computers, but I've never ran into the system recovery being corrupted.

Running the Recovery will wipe the drive and restore it to Factory defaults. Contact HP and request a CD. Then run a Windows Repair.
