i decided to remove norton internet security after too many problems with it. i uninstalled, ran windows installer clean up, searched the hard drive for "norton" and "symantec" and deleted what it found, searched for and deleted any references to "norton" or "symantec" in the registry via regedit, but even after all that i am still finding traces of NIS on my system. i wish to remove EVERY trace of Norton and symantec. how can i do this? some program? thanx.

Never try to teach a hog to sing. It frustrates you and aggravates the hog.

You might want to try Registry Editor. It's easy to use especially the search and it's free.

It can be a rather pain using Xp's regedit to clear out nortons from the registry.

Lessons learnt the hard way are not easily forgotten.
