Subject: Remote comp. in lan, trying to accesOS: winxpCPU/Ram: intel PIV(2.4 Ghz)/256 MB |
Comment: Hi everybody, I have a norton personal firewall, which prompts me of internet accesses. I have Cable net, with my IP address of Lan as: 10.12.145.150.that is the private network ID of my lan is :10.12.145.1. Problem:Recently, firewall prompted me that a remote system with ip:"10.12.145.254",is tryin' to access "generic host process for win32 services on your computer".The location of the file in firewall was shown to be:c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe;though i found there isn't such file in the folder. Also, the remote computer is from my pool or local lan only!! how do i know who was tryin to access and with what purpose?plzz help. also can i resolve computer name to this ip?i need to know who tried to access. Thanx hey ..answer this!if u dare.

Reply: (edit)i cant answer the only this i kan say is that svchost.exe is a hidden windows file (an imortant system file) There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die
