sorry wrong forum.
It wont let me repost so I'll post the question here and hopefully a moderator will move it to the xp forum.

I have got a virus and trying to reinstall windows xp. When I go to install it gives me the following message. Cant continue because the version of windows on your computer is newer than the version on the cd. Cant get any further than that. I removed the service pak 3 but cant get rid of 2 and dont know where to go from here. Any help appreciated

If you're booting to the CD is it the Reinstallation CD that came with the computer?
