I cannot run regedit or open taskmanager. regedit tells me another program is currently using the file, and taskmanager does nothing at all.

I have run CCleaner, Adaware, Spybot, and norton.

? check services to see whats running,
check msconfig as well,
also try processXP:
http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html
try restarting in safe mode to run,
