I am not sure if this was a fluke or maybe something resulting from my Norton's AV finding that Bloodhound Exploit 6 that was in my Internet temp file this last week. So, I thought it was best to ask someone about this.

My ISP has it's own Total Internet toolbar. When I connect to the internet, it will take me to their home page. I had mistakenly clicked close on the page I was on and being the only page there ment that I had to reopen a new page.

I decided to go to the Windows toolbar at the bottom of my computer and click on the "e" icon which is supose to go to MSN.com.

I decided it was a good time to make a quick run to the toilet, but when I came back I had found that it had loaded the Microsoft Windows Update site.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

I have retried opening with the icon at least 3 more times and I haven't gotten this problem since that first time.

There isn't anything set on the bottom of my computer to send me there.

I did a little reading about the Bloodhound Exploit and it is really confusing to me, but the way I understand is that no one knows exactly what it is up to. What I thought was a little suspicious was being sent to the update site. Can there be a way that it can read my files or alter them like downloading it's own files though a place like this if this was it wanted to do?

Windows 98/Me will direct you to the update site every now and then. I get this on 98 and ME once a month or so. It is a microsoft thing.

I read about this a long time ago and do not remember how frequently it happens. You can stop it in the registry, but I do not remember where.

I guess it is also possible that the virus changed some setting to send you to a fake update site, but if you closed it and did not do anything, you are fine.

Oh yeah, your "quick run" - a little too much info, lol.
