Can't seem to get rid of this redirect virus. I've actually formatted my HD, but apparently it's files I've backed up that are infected, cus I'm still having problems. I use AVG, but it isn't picking anything up. I had MBAM also, it wasn't catching anything (I haven't installed it since my latest format this afternoon). My responses may be sporadic, as I'm trying to last through Irene, so I'm not sure how long I'll have power or how long it will be out for if I do lose it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Actually, this seems to have fixed itself (sort of). Firefox had to do an update a few days ago and, after updating, it listed add-ons that were no longer compatible. The only ones listed were a theme and another, listed as "XUL" (or something like that). I looked it up online, and turns out it's a type of virus. Searched and removed any instance I could find of the virus in my system and registry. So far, haven't had any redirects. For some reason, anti-virus and malwarebytes didn't detect this. If I continue to have problems, I'll reply back.
