Ever since I downloaded a skin to my facebook... I am now the un-proud owner of a redirect bug! Help! When I use my search engine it redirects to garbage, I search again & choose the same site, then it takes me to where I want to go. In short, I have to make two attempts each time I surf. McAfee is showing clean. Help please:)

Hi there, try the following steps posted to see if it can remove the infection: " Disable Javascript in Firefox by going to Tools > Options > Content, and untick Enable Javascript, I would also do the same thing in Internet Explorer by going to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level > Look for the "Scripting" option, and disable it, then try running TDSS Killer found here:

If that doesn't work, try changing your DNS using OpenDNS (you don't have to sign up for an account if you don't want to,) you can do this by following this tutorial:

To configure TCP/IP, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.
2. Right-click the network connection that you want to configure, and then click Properties.
3. On the General tab (for a local area connection), or the Networking tab (for all other connections), click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
4. If you want to obtain DNS server addresses from a DHCP server, click Obtain DNS server address automatically.
5. If you want to manually configure DNS server addresses, click Use the following DNS server addresses, and then type the preferred DNS server and alternate DNS server IP addresses in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server boxes.

For Preferred DNS, please type in without the quotes "", and for Alternate DNS type in "". "
