I have been experiencing rebooting after using either my reader or burner. I can put in a disk, read a file, close it and eject it and the computer will reboot.

Same thing happens if I put in a CD to burn a file to it. Once I am done and eject the disk, the computer will reboot.

I had it into a repair shop twice for this. First time he said it was fixed but it did it again after I got it hooked back up at home. Second time he couldn't get it to do the same for him, no matter how he tried to duplicate conditions I described that seemed to cause the reboot.

I sure hope someone can help me as I am about ready to give up an buy a new system. It works fine for everything except this function.

try unchecking Automatically restart and then post the EXACT error message that comes up when the PC shuts down to reboot:

What burning software do you use ? Some burning software will have a check mark that says, turn off pc when done or reboot when done.
look for that in your options..
