Ok...so i was chatting alot during a time when my husband and i were seperated an fighting alot. This was over a year ago. Apparently when i was on yahoo IM which is only where i chat at somone got my IP adress and has been stalking me. I say this, as he now has a ton of personal info on me. Name, address, husbands name, phone number. he is following me via my email adresses and threatening me to tell all kinds of facts about me which i dont need coming out. Most arent even true. I know its not a friend. Its someone i must have met in a chat room.
I am scared and he recently says hes following me when i go out alone. I never do that anyway. He disappeared for awhile, but hes back now and under a new fake email address that pops up on my chat when i log on every now and again.
How do i find out who this person is thru chat? He wont email me...just yahoo IM. I am back with my hubby now and dont want him finding out anything about this cause he always warned me of the weirdos and i never listend to him. What can I do? I have been keeping copies of chats hes had with me from the past. I no longer speak to this person if they pop up, but they are asking, "is this John?" and John is my husbands name. What can i do to find out who this is? Im scared.Im a novice at this, and need to know how to find out who this is. I know they are local, cause i only chatted in local chat rooms.

There are people you can contact about this, i would advise the "computer police" there are many websites who have the right to stop this kind of act. Im no expert in this feild but i would suggest scnnign your computer with a good anti vir and anti spyware...If a 'keylogger' is detected in the scan, remove it and change all of your password you have typed in to your ocmputer, this may be the way he gets in information. Also, if you can find out his I.P then you can type it into google earth and track him that way, perhaps that will scare him off. Also if you havent replied then he may already think that you have changed you e-mail, as long as he cant see when you online.

NOTE: This happens alot so be carefull what you say to anybody about you and where you live, he may pretend to be somebody else to gather info...also there are many help sites for this problem :)
