Subject: Question re AVG test results
OS: Windows ME
CPU/Ram: Pentium III / 256
Comment:

AVG runs a system scan every night and when I look at the results they always report no viruses were found. But when I double-click the results they usually show several files (these seem to vary) with the note: Cannot open - not checked! I'm just wondering if this is a cause for concern or maybe it's normal. Thanks for any advice!

It is normal, ETrust also reports on files that are not scanned. If you have system restore no antivirus can clean or repair any files in it as they are "protected" to prevent any changes to them. Virus/trojan/worm packets use them to hide in, which is why almost always the first step in eliminating an infection is to turn system restore off and restart the computer. HTH
