I cannot find this information nor a phone number nor an email to contact PC Matic to ask this question. If you purchase the 5 copy bundle, can I use three of the copies on my computers in my home and put the other two copies on my Son's computer? If I purchase the 5 pack, why should PC Matic be concerned with what computers I put the software on? Anyone have the answer to this question as I am thinking about purchasing the program. Anyone have experience with PC Matic? If so what do you think of this software?

If you buy licence for up to 5 computers, it means you can install it on up to 5 computers in the same household.

It doesn't matter who owns each of the 5 computers, as long as the owners all live together.

That is the usual understanding with any retail software where the licence allows multiple users with one serial number.

You might want to read, for example, this discussion before deciding whether to invest in this program: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/for...

mmm... You might like to read this article - likely only one of many out there in web-land...

http://tinyurl.com/qhzrbcq

Overal it comes over a significantly less than it claims to be..; and I suggest not worth bothering with...

Registry tweakers are two a penny; and frequently cause more problems then they claim to resolve.

There are many (free) excellent utilities about which will deal with assorted malware, pestware, popup, viruses and so on. Several are regularly suggested here at CN (and equally on one or two other reliable forums...).

If you haven't bought/paid for PC Matic then I would pass it by. If you have... you might consider seeking a refund (if possible)? Then come back here and ask for specific (reliable and free) utilities which will do "all" that the typical "all-in-one, all singing 'n dancing" utilities frequently claim - but seldom deliver.

"I cannot find this information nor a phone number nor an email to contact PC Matic to ask this question. "

That alone should indicate (as discussed above) that this isn't a program you need have residing on your machine. In fact, if it's being advertised on TV (as some discussion on the links suggest), then avoid at all cost. Good programs develop a reputation as being such...they don't need to advertise on television.

As an aside, it always makes me laugh when you see things advertised as "as seen on TV". I have a job to see why that makes any difference to whether you buy them or not.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Excellent sales pitch.

PCMaticSupportTeam - I have a question for you...

Why do we need to use third party performance optimization program such as PC Matic? What is wrong with Microsoft' own Optimize Windows for better performance?

And an additional question... If the software is all as is claimed..., why so many complaints, and warnings etc. about it; many from those who have direct experience with it?

Can't fault a chap for defending his corner (which he does well); comes with the job...

Incidentally my tiny url was also to the same bleeping.com link... Seems we all found much the same comments and reports...

Sadly... f one trawls the web about PC Pitstop... there are more than a few similar "unkind" (critical) reports and comments about that too. Facebook certainly has one or two...; and on Amazon there are many "not very happy with it"/critical comments...

We take all reviews posted about our product very seriously.

The Amazon listing cited here is an outdated listing. Worth noting the older listing - shows 62% rating the product 4 or 5 stars.

The current Amazon listing shows 92% have rated the product 4 or 5 stars:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...

We find the credibility of complaintslist.com questionable - given its policy of charging companies that are reviewed - a fee to remove false information.

Many users of our product have come to prefer the comprehensive nature of our product - combining performance optimization and security - that can be managed from a single dashboard.

Our weekly newsletters and libraries - provide detailed information for members of our community that prefer other alternatives.

PC Matic includes more than performance optimization. PC Matic also includes an AV scan and clean engine and a whitelist based real-time protection agent. Along with automated driver update tool and vulnerability protection.

"Our current Amazon listing shows 92% have rated the product 4 or 5 stars."

Yet of the 43 reviews from Amazon's "verified purchases" list, 26 of them are critical. Sounds more like only a 39.5% endorsement...

Which has, at times, been one of the worst AV's to detect false positives...

PC Matic also achieved one of the highest scores ever recorded on the Virus Bulletin RAP test. We publicly addressed the issue of false positives when the test results were released.

"The security industry including the testing houses such as Virus Bulletin, place a higher value on not blocking good files (false positives) than accurately identifying bad files (false negatives). In the Virus Bulletin methodology, there is zero tolerance for false positives. If a product has one false positive out of a million, then the product fails certification. On the other hand, the exact same product can misidentify hundreds if not thousands of bad files as good with little consequence on ratings and certification. We, however, are not completely satisfied with the result and have resubmitted to improve our Reactive and Proactive scores"

"If a review isn't marked Amazon Verified Purchase, it doesn't mean that the reviewer has no experience with the product - just that we couldn't verify it had been purchased at Amazon." - Amazon.com

We take great pride in the positive reviews posted on Amazon and on other sites. We also treat other feedback very seriously and make every effort to resolve issues to our customer's satisfaction or issue a full refund.
