OS: Windows XP SP2
CPU/Ram: 1GH, 512MB
Model/Manufacturer: Compaq
Comment:
This question is for jabuck. Hi, Jabuck! First of all thanks for helping me. But here are some questions still in my mind.

1- What is comboFix? What it does? If i start it in non-virus PC then what will be its effect?

2- "HiJackThis" only removes "flashy.exe" or also any other virus in PC?

3- What are log files?

I request you to give some time to me. I will be grateful to you. Regards.

... just browsing really but I'll answer this one broadly while I'm here.

HiJackThis simply "reports" everything that can run on startup. You then ask it to remove ONLY the items which are bad. If you remove the wrong thing it can cause serious problems. Jabuck is an expert at making these decisions.

If you Google for ComboFix you will be able to find out everthing about it.

Log files simply log activity at the command of a program. That might be too general an answer for you. If necessary tell us exactly which log you mean.

As a general point it is best not to ask for a particular person on here, otherwise everyone else might skip the post. If Jabuck is around he is likely to step in - but he might be out of town or otherwise engaged.

some other bloke...

I agree with Derek. Instead of saying "Please jabuck can you help" you are in effect ordering jabuck to give you some time. This is considered to be a very poor taste. You also need to understand that everybody here are volunteers and they may resist being ordered to do something special for one user.

Or, PM him rather than posting a new thread.
