Today my computer started freezing up, and occationally reboots on its own. This is now happening within 5 to 10 minutes after reboot. This doesn't appear to happen in safe mode.
I deleted and uninstalled any new programs and tried to cleanup my startup. I noticed a new item in my startup programs.
Qcce.exe
I tried unchecking it in startup and it re-establishes itself.
In safe mode, I tried to delete the file altogether and unchecked it in startup - it re-establishes itself.
I did a google search and a search here for this name or file and got no hits.

Anyone heard of this before? Any suggestions?

AFter you disabled Qcce.exe from msconfig Startup or Task Manager, do a Find/Search of the filename. Usually a malware file (and other system files also so be careful) could be found in the system folder, \Window\system.

1. Identify it's a malware file by right-click on the file, select properties, click version, check vendor name, and search the Internet or virus encyclopedia by vendor name, type of worm, trojan, virus if searching the file name didn't work. The extra step of defining the name of virus, trojan, ro virus will help you move other related .exe and .dll files.

2. If it's a malware file, then delete it from the directories found.

3. Do a Find/Search of Qcce.exe to make sure all Qcce.exe have been removed from your OS.

You could also install a third-party process viewer to help you identify unknown processes running. I use a free software called Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com
