Comment: I have a question that Im sure has been asked over and over. I have a problem with purity scan and popups. We didnt voluntarily install it, it was ran from some other program. I have tried everything that I know to remove it but nothing has worked. Ive deleted the actual files, Ive followed the advice that Ive found here, Ive followed the instructions at Symantec. Ive looked for the registry keys with no luck. Ive ran both Adaware and spyboth search and destroy. Ive looked for the winserv files in task manager. And still, in 30 minutes time, with no browser open, I will have 15 popups. Does anyone have any idea what to do? These are driving us crazy! Also, we have 3 separate desktops...a his, a hers, and a kids. It was installed under the His and only runs there. Never any popups under the hers or kids. Help please!! Also, I can add a hijackthis log and list of running processes if it will help. Thanks!!

Reply: Thanks. I did finally get it out. Turns out that it has various names besides winserv or winservn that it runs under. Unfortunatly I didnt keep the name that I found it under to share. I'll see if I can find it and then post instructions as I did it for others who may need it.
