Comment: hello all...Has ne1 here used a program called proximotron. I have seen this on another site, but not sure exactly what it does, it sounds like it is a program for those of us that really value our privacy on the internet..so if ne1 could give me some info on whether this is a good program I would appreciate it very much...I love this site..

Reply: I have heard of it, but not used it. Finjan's "surfingguardpro" is one fine free program, if internet security is what you are after. You could check out the CNET Download website for user reviews of proximotron and surfinguardpro. Take care and all the best!

Reply: I have heard good things about Proxomitron. It isn't easy to set-up,I know that much.It is a web filter.Blocks popups etc..Spyblocker is similar and gets good feed-back.It's not free though. It's around $20.00 for a lifetime license with upgrades. It's easy to use and blocks popups, web bugs, scripts, worms, scanners. The only thing it must have is access to port 80.It won't share that port.Check it out with a Google search. If you are really into security, there are a few free programs that I use and like.Winpatrol monitors start up programs, lists cookies, has a domain search tool, shows active tasks. It's free with a plus program for $12.95(very easy to use).System Safety Monitor is a bit more advanced.Monitors registry activity, startup programs, asks permission to run programs.WinPatrol is at http://www.winpatrol.com System Safety Monitor is found at webattack under system monitoring.Regards.JB
