protection of internet email address

Specs: Windows XP

I have 2 question concerning the protection of internet-based emails! That is not how not to get spam emails etc. but if there is a software which allows your emails to be send to multiple recipients !? And secondly how you secure that your password is not discovered by someone who wants to "gossip" a bit more about you!?

Thanks a lot

There's little in the way of software to prevent forwarding of e-mails , but first, look for a web-based account that allows "disposable e-mail addresses" (Yahoo e-mail offers such a service). Also, to prevent spam, don't post your address on message boards (such as this one) and grab a second address to use for "questionable" sites (Gmail is almost perfect for this). Use complex passwords with the maximum allowable characters (never anything like "12345" or "abc-123") and include symbols, numbers, upper and lower-case letters (if the site allows it). Granted, these are harder to remember, but also much more difficult to decrypt or guess. And finally, never write your password down for anyone to find (if you suspect someone "locally" is abusing your passwords)...
