I have been having this problem for months so I do not recall if we added any new software, etc before this problem began.

Any program that is active, goes inactive every few minutes and sometimes several times within a minute. As I type this, the blue title bar goes to light blue, and I can no longer type, until I click within this message field.

This occurs in all of our programs including Word, Works, Excel, Outlook Express, etc.

I have limited knowledge of computers so if you could help me in any way, I would appreciate it! This problem is making our computer almost useless.

thanks!

What program are you running? Some software programs, Instant Messengers, etc. have a "Steal Focus" feature. Which means that if there is activity within that program, such as an incoming message, it will "Steal the focus" of the current window to bring the other window to the front of your screen.

I have Outlook Express for email. I do not have an instant messaging service.

Right now, the only window I have open is to reply to this message, and after I type a few words, the entire window goes inactive (title bar turns to light blue) and I can no longer type. I have to click in this comment field to begin typing again.
It happens in any program that I'm using such as Outlook Express, Word, Excel, online forms, searching in google, Works, etc. So it happens while I'm online or in word processing documents as well. Any window that I have opened and I'm working in, goes inactive every 20 seconds or less. I would appreciate any help. I'm a fast typist and I've probably had to re-click in this field at least 10 times to finish this message. This problem is driving us crazy. Thanks for any and all help!!

What browser are you using? And do you have more than one window/tab open in it?
