hey guys, i'd really really appreciate it if someone could help me with this. it's been bugging me for weeks.

ok, so some of the programs that are in my computer won't run. like norton antivirus, notepad, etc. not only that, but my homepage keeps on setting itself to www.trytechnical.com even when i set it to google. and everytime i finish my internet session, two shortcut icons always appear on my desktop. named "credit counseling" and "health insurance." and then there's also a problem with porn. porn shortcuts keep on appearing in my favorites folder and two connections always "magically" appear. namely "TIBS41" and "TIBS42." some porn dialer i think. i don't know how they keep on appearing even after i delete them. i don't even look at porn.

i'm getting really frustrated with this. i don't even know if it's a virus or whatever since norton won't open and run. i've tried to scan my computer online through the mcafee site but didn't continue because i knew it would take forever since i'm only on dial-up.

if anyone can help me with this, i'd greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance.

If you haven't already, using the two programs below regularly is always a good idea.

AD-AWARE LINK
SPYBOT LINK

Make sure to update the programs after downloading and installation, then scan your PC.

Delete everything the programs find; all deletions are reversible.

If you still have problems after using Spybot and Ad-Aware, download HijackThis, scan your PC, and post the log in the Security & Virus forum here at Computing .net.

PS: Below are a couple of reliable online antivirus scans. Like McAfee, they take some time to complete. But if you want to clean the junk out of your PC, you really have no choice. 8-)
