Hello i got a threat on my AOL IM by a hacker. The hackerhas threatned to do things like slow down my connection. Sometimes i want be able to pull up a webpage. I have to reset my DSL modem and reconnet. The DSL light is on just can't get webpages. Also a few weeks ago on my desktop the wallpaper was black. I could not change it. The hacker on AIM asked me things did it happen. I told him about the desktop computer. He said no at first. Then he said oh yes the virus i put on your system doese mess with the desktop. I have contacted Bellsouth my ISP and they kinda refuse to help.

Sounds like he's messing with your head, mostly. what are you using for an anti-virus? Do you have a firewall configured?

Yes i windows firewall. I was told with a router i don't need a software firewall. My desktop is only 500 MHZ and running XP. A real good software firewall would really slow it down. I use AVG for Antivirus on all computers.

My question is, why are you still talking to this jerk and validating his actions? Run a System Restore to a point before the weirdness started.

Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

Backup everything you need, while you can, then reinstall windows. Also, save avg anti virus & zonealarm. BEFORE connecting to the internet after the windows install, install avg & zonealrm.

Before posting try google. Backup. Use anti virus software.
