In IE6 Security/Trusted Sites, I have an internet address that can't be deleted, http://*.216.187.80.232. I've run Spybot 1.3, HijackThis 1.98.2, and tried manually deleting from Trusted Sites. I've done all the preceeding in regular and safe mode. Nothing gets rid of this thing. It reappears as soon as the Sites tab is reclicked. Same with HijackThis.

The site is from EZ Protector, a web master, or so I was told.

I have IE6 and XP Home.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Follow these steps:

That will get rid of the problem.

reinstalling IE may fix it, but how does he prevent it from happening again?

sting, run most/all of the software listed at the top of the security home page. and get all MS updates

Zach..I don't have the XP disc handy, but I will have it next week. I will try your fix and report back.

Blackdogx...I'm not sure what you mean by the "software at the top of the security home page." I have most of the MS updates, but not all. I will get them. I am sort of reluctant to install the SP2 patch right away and was inclined to wait a bit.

If either of you have thoughts on the latter, please let me know.
