I'll post here anyways. I am not entirely sure if I have been hacked or not, but the other day when I tried to login to yahoo mail, it said invalid password, so i clicked on the forgot password and gave them all my information that i know i put in there correctly, but i couldn't go any further. Is it possible that I was hacked and somebody changed my information?

Hi Jason
Has Yahoo got back to you with the details you gave them initially? So you can compare them to yours.
I doubt very much you have been hacked as hackers, or so I'm told, tend to target the bigger fish, so to speak,
I have lost count of the times I used to log on to my mail with my ISP and forget the number on the end, It's quite frustrating until the penny drops and then you think "What a muppet"

Chances are you were not HACKED, instead you may have already GIVEN away your username and password.

There are numerous links all over the internet that will bring up a Yahoo signin screen. The fact is that these are actually bogus screens used to steal your information.

The safest way is to put the Yahoo homepage in your "Favorites", then go into your mail from there. Always sign in BEFORE cruising through Yahoo. If another screen asks for signin, you know it's bogus because you are already SIGNED IN!

Hello all; quite some time ago, I have done what Martin recommended (above post). I put the Yahoo homepage up in the "links" bar.
When I click it there, I have no annoyances with password prompts at all....works like a charm.
I then click "mail", and am brought right to my "inbox", with no hassles of password prompts at all.

Now, if I could only figure out how to do the same with Comcast e-mail....that is one big pain in the ass. Constant bombardment with password prompts galore; and their customer service dept is, well, I'll stop there.....
Enjoy the weekend, all!

Some time ago they did hack into my Yahoo account and every time I went into any yahoo chat room I was closed down ,regardless which screen name I used.
I had to close my account ,open a new account using one extra letter in my original default screen name to register and used a password with 30 letters or so in a combination of large and small letters .
That password I keep in my e/mail system and every time Yahoo asked me for my password I copy and paste which works perfectly and never had any trouble again .
6/8 months later I also got my original Screen name back when yahoo released it , but its not my default any more .

Had the same thing happen to me. I had them e-mail me the password, it was the same one I was trying to use.
Turns out I had the "caps lock" on, (stupid me!)
Might not help, just a thougght.
