possible virus/worm ?

has anyone here ever heard of a virus/worm that prevents someone from receiving windows updates? Or better does anyone here know why I can go anywhere on the internet except for windows update page. I have tried several different ways, even through through tool and windows update in IE.

You might have a problem with spyware on your PC. Even if it isn't spyware, using the two programs below regularly is always a good idea.
1. Download and install Spybot; update the utility BEFORE scanning your PC. 2. Download and install Ad-Aware; update the utility BEFORE scanning your PC.
After installation and updating, scan your PC with both utilities. Delete everything they find. All deletions are reversible.
