Hi. I've been running my system smoothly for a couple months now. I just got back from work tonight and saw my background wallpaper but there were no icons on the screen. i tried a few things, and nothing worked so i restarted. when it restarted it loaded up fine, but then it the icons/start bar would flash on and off a few times, and again it just left the background wallpaper there and i couldn't do anything.
i finally restarted in safe mode and checked out msconfig. I noticed a program called lnchr.exe was loading on startup. I had no idea what it was. It was located in c:\windows\hddndr\ along with a file called monitor.dll
I checked on google for this file but nothing turned up. I just decided to delete the whole folder and now my computer works fine.
