hi guys
all help is appreciated if anyone can give it.
my computer has constantly been freezing, or the monitor all of a sudden going black, and it wont turn back on until i restart my computer.
if i do cntrl/alt/ delete to bring up the task manager. if i am in the proccesses tab and can see all the processes running, i can count 6 or 7 svchost.exe's running. I dont know ALOT about computers, but i dont find this normal
if i try to end the process to one svchost.exe process in particular, each time the window will pop up and it has a count down until the computer restarts (the same window that pops up if you have the blaster worm, if you can recall it!)
ive ran trendmicro.com house call, and AVG anti virus...and nothing. Ive also ran adaware adn spybot, and nothing....
the computer still freezez or goes black , so i dont know what to do. i dont really want to wipe my HDD, but if its the last resort i will!
all help is GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks

It's customary to have several svchost processes running at the same time (system, local service, network service), although 6 or 7 seems unusual. I have two PCs with XP; neither runs more than five svchost processes.Download HijackThis, then have it scan your PC and make a log file of what it finds.
Then copy/paste the log file into the HijackThis Analyzer. The analyzer will tell you what, if anything, to remove using the HijackThis utility.
Important: Make a System Restore point before making any changes.

ok...
my comoputer is screwed.....there is a virus in the SVCHOST.EXE, because when i ruin my computer hooked up w/ my cable modem there are 2 extra svchost.exe's running than if i start my computer hooked up w/ out the modem attached. Also, when i connect w/ my internet hooked up, on of the avchost.exe's is running at 100% and taking up all of my memory, and my computer idles at 100%, so it wont open everyhting, and it freezes!
any other suggestions?
im very frustrated
