possible bios virus?

My brand new CPU will not boot past the ACER screen. If left unplugged for a few days it will then boot past the ACER screen but some time later the same thing will happen all over again. I had this problem with my last computer so I know it's an infected file that I have transferred over, unfortunately anti-virus software will not pick it up. Formatting will rectify the situation but I need to isolate the infected file(s) and remove them. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
