I have a pop-up virus that doesn't go away
even when internet explorer is closed. It
starts with a message that if my CD door
has opened that I need to go to their site
and install spyware. (Which I haven't
done). The same two porno pop ups
keep reappearing after I close them and
when I check internet explorer for the
home page setting it has their address. I
change it back to google, but that doesn't
work. There also is an internet explorer
box that says "in order to access this site
you must press Yes". I can't close it and I
also can't get rid of it by pressing the "ok"
box. HELP!!!!!!!!

Janet:

Sounds like your browser's been hijacked.

Using the two programs below regularly is always a good idea.

AD-AWARE LINK
SPYBOT LINK

Make sure to update the programs after downloading and installation, then scan your PC.

Delete everything the programs find; all deletions are reversible.

If you still have problems after using Spybot and Ad-Aware, download HijackThis (a new version is available), scan your PC, and post the log here in the Security & Virus forum.
