I have a pop-up virus that doesn't go away even when internet explorer is closed. It starts with a message that if my CD door has opened that I need to go to their site and install spyware. (Which I haven't done). The same two porno pop ups keep reappearing after I close them and when I check internet explorer for the home page setting it has their address. I change it back to google, but that doesn't work. There also is an internet explorer box that says "in order to access this site you must press Yes". I can't close it and I also can't get rid of it by pressing the "ok" box. HELP!!!!!!!!
Make sure to update the programs after downloading and installation, then scan your PC.
Delete everything the programs find; all deletions are reversible.
If you still have problems after using Spybot and Ad-Aware, download HijackThis (a new version is available), scan your PC, and post the log here in the Security & Virus forum.
