okay heres my problem

i'll be surfing the web or checking my e-mail or chatting with ppl on aim and a new windo will pop up from like tickle IQ or ebay or something and my cpu usage will shott up to 100% and then when i try to close the window, it wont close and it slows down the whole internet. even when i sit there and let it be open, more will pop up and i wont be able to close them either and eventually it gets so bad that i have to go into task manager and end the whole internet.also when i search for something on google or anyother search site i get rerouted to mysearch.com and an ebay window opens and searches for whatever i searched for in google. its really annoying because the ebay window is one of those that wont close and suck up my cpu usage. i have spybot s&d, ad-aware 6.0, cwshredder and norton systemworks 2004 which i use to clear my system of crap like this, but none of them have found the source of this problem.

thanx alot in advance for any help

Look in your Installed Programs in Control Panel: Open 'Add/Remove Programs'; Select the 'My Search Bar' (MySearch variant), 'MyWay Speed Bar' (MyWay) or 'My Web Search Bar' (MyWeb) entry and click 'Remove'. For the MyWeb variant, be sure to also remove 'Fun Web Products Easy Installer'.

You can then reset your home page (Internet Options->General->Start Page) if it has been changed, and search settings (Internet Options->Programs->Reset web settings).

I would suggest the "Power of Three" proggies; download, install, update all indexes from within the programs, and run them. Kill anything they find. Do this once weekly. Also enable Spyware Blaster to block any program that attempts to install an ActiveX file.

Oops, sorry, I guess it would help if I told you what the 3 programs are, right?

>Lavasoft Ad Aware
>Spybot Search and Destroy
>Spyware Blaster
>May as well add Bazooka, just do a Google for them.

ranchhand,

Your power of three, as you say, are all right here. Links, that is.
