Specs: Windows Vista
I want to get rid of vista security 2012, it's taken over my computer. It redirects my browser unless I type directly into the adress bar.. I'm using Chrome, it seems to work better than firefox and IE. I had Avast and Malwarebytes on here for two years. I tried to scan with Malware but the virus shut it down after scanning.. I launched in SAFE MODE and every desktop icon led to the virus splash screen opening.. I booted back in normal and have more usabiltity.. I can browse within pages such as within this site; when I click links from search engines it redirects to some random ad page. please help me. I'm a computer science student and should know this stuff. I have a laptop I could connect to this pc but is it safe? Could this virus worm its way into my laptop. HELP.

Sincerely A.Tomlinson (totally not panicking)

Hi tone t of course,
Vista security 2012 is a fake AV program which need to be removed from your pc.
Please see if it will let you download Malwarebytes from this link:
If it wont let you download it, please get to a clean pc and download it on to a flash drive. Then install and run on the infected pc.
