Hi,
Recently I installed downloaded the software for online poker from PartyPoker.com. Ever since I downloaded that I am continuously getting irritating pop-ups mostly related to casino gaming sites and on a few occassions porn sites. I have uninstalled the damn software but the pop ups keep comming.
I ve tried using Ad-Aware but to no avail. It still keeps comming.Any body know some good stuff that will take care of these pop ups ??
Thanks

if you have SP2 installed, adjust the pop-up stopper to high. Try this free On-line Spyware Scan
and remove all it finds.
You may also use :
Spybot S&D
Spyware BlasterHopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Get Microsoft's do not worry about it being a beta version) antispyware program, it works fine on 2000. If you still have problems get Spybot.

...and that is the dirty little secret hidden inside Party Poker!

Many Thanks to all of you
I have tried using spy bot. After the scan it does identify the system as being infected with casino popups and promptly removes the same. However I am still not been able to get rid of the problem. The pop ups keep comming.
I havent tried microsoft's anti spyware and spyware blaster yet. May be I'll try those and see what happens.
In the mean time your valuable suggestions are most welcome
thanks again.

I have been using partypoker on 2 of my machines for a few months now.
I have never received any pop-ups.I dont have a pop-up stopper and I dont have sp2 installed.
I run adaware,s&d,ewido, spyware doctor and all comes up clean even with partypoker installed.
It is possible you have caught this malware on the sites you went looking for poker sofware.I cant see party poker advertising porn.they dont need to ,they are a multi million dollar industry in gaming.

You need to find proper spyware removal program.
there are more than 350 spyware removers in the market: some of them are really bad and made to deceive you, others are quite good. Some of them are free of charge, some - are not.
Read reviews:
here is the list of good antispyware programs and here is the list of bad programs called corrupt antispyware.
