Connected through dial-up to internet. Did not start IE Browser software.

Just sat and waited. Looking at screen.

5 Minutes later www.popuppers.com did it's job and invaded the screen with usual popup trash, and browser opening.

My Temp Internet dir was empty, nothing unsual with MSCONFIG. REGEDIT found no reference to the problem. No new software added in last 3 months. Add/Remove programmes has no new guests.I do not know what the solution is, but it appears that i am getting closer. All i can guess that there could be some kind of malware hybernating and waiting for a port to open, or pinging out, or something after 5 minutes, before it goes to work. Adaware and Spybots no good.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Hi

If you go to http://www.popuppers.com you are taken to a page with the uninstaller.

You might have other malware installed too.
Two good programs to clean out spyware/malware causing popups, crashes, etc are:

Ad-aware and spybot search and destroy.
Both are free
Both need updating before running.
Run them while offline and with antivirus disabled to prevent conflicts.
(dont forget to turn antivirus back on when done)

Ad-aware:

Spybot

http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download

Prevention program is spywareblaster; it will block many of these malware downloads.
Install after cleaning up with ad-aware and spybot.

Spywareblaster

Good luck
