Please help! I have had a lot of trouble with my computer lately- and I've been scanning it and nothing comes up. Alright, you know the 'My Briefcase' icon? For some odd reason it is on top of some of the other icons. It's on top of a Notepad icon, Instant Messenger, NOD32, Microsoft works Suite, Quickbooks, and Kazaalite. I know Kazaalite is part of the problem, but can anyone tell me whats wrong with my computer?
The computer's been acting really weird, and now this icon thing happened.
Thanks,
Michelle

What firewall do you use? Is your antivirus program working properly? Try a trojan scan at the PC Flank's website. If it is positive, get a trial trojan program at their site. Tauscan, Trojan Remover, Trojan Hunter and TDS are all programs that will detect and clean a trojan for you.

Sounds like some spyware, install Spybot & Spyware Blaster.

hi michelle,
yes do a trojan and port scan at pcflank.com, and if anything comes up download a free 30 day trial of Trojan Hunter and scan your machine. you may also want to go to www.thepublicworks.com security section and link to Regprot, and Sysinternals for free Registry monitor, Process monitor and Port monitor, that will keep you informed and secure.
also check your directories for any kaaza files such as: *.wink files, before deleting them do a search in your registry and delete the .wink file keys first and then do it in windows.
hope this helps,
murve
