Reply: (edit)Download and update CWShredder here: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html If that doesn't work try Adaware and Spybot both located at the top of the security and virus form under "click here for security tools". You need to get those programs on your puter as they are very helpful in getting rid of pests like these. Make sure you get all the updated definitions so the program doesn't miss anything. good luck

Reply: (edit)hi Brackenbury, your browser may have been hijacked, so you will have to use a few good free software programs to hopefully delete the spyware that's in your computer. if you don't have these software programs, download Spybot and Adaware, get the latest definitions, and scan in safe mode. also, do you have an anti-virus? an anti-trojan? i assume you do, but if not download a good free anti-virus such as AVG, and a good anti-trojan such as A Squared, also get the latest definitions and scan your computer in safe mode. you can get all these by going to www.thepublicworks.com and linking to them in the free stuff section. to get A Squared, link to Ants in free anti-trojan section. you can access safe mode by rebooting your computer, wait till the post screen (black with info on your bios) comes up, press the f8 key to access safe mode. again, once you have downloaded and received all the latest definitions, go to safe mode by clicking on the F8 key when you reboot your computer, once in safe mode, scan your computer with all of these programs, delete all the files that they may come up with, clean your temporary internet files, clean your temp files, clean your history files, and your cookies in your cookie folder, clean your recycle bin. reboot your computer into normal mode. hopefully that will do it. if not repost. there are many other good helpers here, so don't worry, one way or another your problem will be solved. hope this helps, all the best, murve

Reply: (edit)I don't know what to do next! I downloaded Spy bot and it wouldn't run once downloaded. It says - "unable to execute file, create process failed code 1157, one of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found" I then downloaded CW Shredder. It wouldn't run once downloaded and said "A required .dll file was not found" Please help. Thanks

Reply: (edit)hi brackenbury, because we know what operating system you use, but not the type of computer you are using eg pentium1, 2, 3, 4, memory, hard drive, cpu, etc: i'm guessing that it could be that the operating system you are using is to old. i assume that you are using a younger version of windows 95, and that you need newer dll's that are not found in win 95 to install these programs. you should probably uninstall 95 and install a newer operating system such as win millenium or windows 2000 if your computer can accept them (we don't know what kind of computer you have?), or even win98 second edition. you will need to install these programs if you want to rid yourself of the probable spyware that's infecting your computer. all the best, murve
