My computer is getting very slow also lots and lots of pop-ups. Sometiome my PC even shuts itself down.

I had this problem since 21-11-2005. I had the Window XP home addition installed on F drive and nothing on C drive before 21-11-2005. After that I found "adtech2005.exe" on C drive and started having problems and Pop-ups, immediately I deleted "adtech2005.exe". However the problems and pop-up still remain. Today I downloaded "Hijack" and installed. I got it scanned my PC and it told me to ask advise.

There are several characters may not able to show on your PC properly. They are in traditional chinese, because I am from Hong Kong

We need to move Hijack This to a folder of it's own such as C:\HJT, so that back up copies can be made and not clutter your desktop or other folders and the backup copies of deleted items can be easily located if needed.And because we will be deleting temp files, so let's do that first.

You may just need to unzip ht to a folder of it's own.

Looks like you have a Look2Me infection.

Download L2mfix.exe at this link http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Ok, close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then it will ask for a password enter bye (lowercase) then hit enter. Your desktop and icons will disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, it will be ready for a reboot. Press any key to reboot.After the reboot notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!
If after the reboot the log does not open double click on it in the l2mfix folder.

Download Ewido Security Suite then set it up this way Ewido Setup Instructions reboot into Safe Mode and run Ewido

When the scan has completed, Ewido will create a report.txt file. Click the "Save Report" button on the bottom of the screen and save the log to your desktop in case you need it later.

Please reboot into normal mode and post the ewido log.

Post the logs and a new HT log.

Next reboot into by following the directions at this link Safe Mode

Then set the computer up to view hidden files. Go to start>control panel>folder options>view tab>scroll down and:

Tick the circle beside "show hidden files and folders".

Uncheck the box beside "Hide extensions of known file types".

Uncheck the box beside "hide protected operating system files" then click apply>click ok.

The navigate to and delete the following files/folders.

F:\WINDOWS\System32\NTdhcp.exe {file}

F:\WINDOWS\WEJPWA (folder)

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\syssmss.exe(file)

C:\ppy.exe (file)delete if you don't know what it is

Run this free online scan from Panda

When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to the desktop, then copy/paste into the text editor and post it.

Download Ewido Security Suite then set it up this way Ewido Setup Instructions reboot into Safe Mode and run Ewido

When the scan has completed, Ewido will create a report.txt file. Click the "Save Report" button on the bottom of the screen and save the log to your desktop in case you need it later.

Please reboot into normal mode and post the ewido log.

And post a new HT log.

Hunty, Follow the directions at this link to set the computer up to view Show Hidden Files Reboot into safe mode to delete the file/folder found by Panda. Navigate to and delete:

F:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\atmtd.dll

F:\WINDOWS\G_Server.DLL

F:\WINDOWS\G_ServerKey.DLL

F:\WINDOWS\G_Server_HOOk.DLL

F:\WINDOWS\G_Server (folder if found)

Do a google search for spywareblaster, download it and update it.Really helps prevent spyware from installing itself on your computer.

how does SpywareBlaster work? because I think I just installed it and didn't activate it. So i am sorry, i am getting pop-ups again.................

Open it click enable all protection, update it, a blue sentence will state x many items unprotected, cleck that sentence to enable all protection. Can't remember exactly what it says but that is close.

I am up with a massive problem, When I open a new Internet Explorer it doesnt goes to my usual wedsite - www.hk.yahoo.com, but instead it goes to - http://<h1>service%20unavailable</h1> , which doesnt show anything at all. Then immediatly I went to My computer - Control panel and change the Homepage address. some how, it doesnt allow me to change the homepage
