Hello, can anyone please help me with a Cisco Pix firewall question. I am looking to buy one, or use a simulator, but I cannot find a simulator, and every firewall seems to be over $2,000. Is there any cheaper Pix firewalls out there? I am limited to app. $200. I will mainly be using it for learning purposes, so I am mainly concerned with the os. Any ideas would be greatly helpful.
Thanks
Dan

Hello Dan,
How come to buy for a firewall when you have freeware in the net enough strong to protect a home computer.
I suggest you download right away one of them called SYGATE, excellent product, and very easy to use.
Download in the web page only the "free download" of sygate personal use:

Good luck

Why not enroll in a certification class? I am guessing that a class would costno more than a few hundred dollars, you would get your certification papers to use on your resume. You could also just get the manuals and study them.

Thanks, but the best way for me is to sit down with it and learn. Thats how I learned how to use cisco routers and switches. Personally I hate the cisco netacad programs, so the only way for me to learn is self-study. A cheap pix firewall is what I need, but I am thinking they don't exist. If anyone knows of a model or any good deals, please let me know, for my mind is set on buying one.
