Hello everyone, I've been using the porn site Pichunter.com recently and thought it was safe, but this very morning my firewall/virus-scan softare said I had been infected by a Trojan Virus from Pichunter disguised as a .ani file! I tried to delete the file through Mcafee but it was write protected so I deleted the temporary internet files and now the virus is gone- deleted I thought- but soon after I got a message evertime I started IE 'runtime error 217', then IE closed down. I reset all IE settings and this seems to have worked. Was this related to the Trojan Virus? Am I still infected? Has anyone had a similar problem? Help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it is still active.

We can run a few scans to look for it.

First download and install the latest version of HijackThis v2.0.2:

Download the "HijackThis" Installer from this link:
Hijack This

1. Save " HJTInstall.exe" to your desktop.
2. Double click on HJTInstall.exe to run the program.
3. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis.
4. Accept the license agreement by clicking the "I Accept" button.
5.Click on the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
6. Click "Save log" to save the log file and then the log will open in Notepad.
7. Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
8. Paste the log in your next reply.
9. Do NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet! Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

JacobMarley, sounds like the virus is probably in your system restore

if it keeps coming back. Turn it off and scan and don't forget to turn it back on after the problem is cleared up.
