I ran the Pest Patrol trial scan just now and it found 31 registry entries for spyware, including Bonzi Buddy. I run AdAware and SpyBot regularly, and they come up negative almost 100% of the time. Also use SpyWare Blaster. Can't help but question these findings. Is the Pest Patrol trial valid, or are the findings a come on to make you buy the program?

Viruskiller- No doubt the program is fine, but I'm just wondering if the 31 items it claims its finding are in fact on the computer, or are they a come-on to get you to buy in order to clean? I know that both AdAware and SpyBot will find Bonzi Buddy, why don't they report it? I also use Bonanza, and have SpywareBlaster. All are kept up to date and run regularly. With SpywareBlaster installed, AdAware and SpyBot rarely find anything but MRU's.

WWW, I just reran the demo, and I believe you're right. I checked some of the registry entries, and they are all HKLM------\typelib\--- entries. Thanks. My faith in eTrust is restored.

Thanks. I only ran Pest Patrol because I got an Email from CA (I'm a long time user of eTrust AV). I won't be buying Pest Patrol though. Like I figured, they're just trying to sucker people in.
