I was told that this is a rat? Dont know what that is but want to get rid of it. shall i delete the file it's embedded in in safe mode (satmat.exe)? or is this a bad idea? If someone could help it would be greatly appreciated (bearing in mind im not a technoexpert, please explain in layman's terms!) AVG picked it up by the way but can't heal it. Please help!

Yes you can delete C:\WINDOWS\satmat.exe that is the trojan. You should do some clean-up by going to start> run>type "cleanmgr" without the quotes>ok, when it loads select:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files
Temporary Files
ok

Then purge system restore by going to start>control panel>system>system restore>check the box beside turn off system restore>apply>ok.

Reboot the computer and turn system restore back on.
