PC-Cillin vs. AVG

I just deleted my trial version of PC-Cillin and loaded AVG andfound a significant difference in how the system now responds. Much quicker when loading ordinary files, programs or Websites. I assume that PC-Cillin just used a lot of system resources and slowed down my system.
I do wonder, however, whether AVG gives me the same type of protection? WOuld anyone know?
These tests dont tell you much but its a starting point when looking for "the best" product. The problem with tests like these are that a virus definition update might change the Fail to a Pass and that one product might pass for a specific OS and fail for the others.

Both PC-cilin and AVG are good virus scanners... however since you just uninstalled Pc-cillin , you still have about 3 files left in the System Folder. Go to the File Search and input TREND MICRO in the search for TEXT box ... and look at the list that comes up. Right click the dll's and look at properties .. you have 3 left over from pc-cillin ... one is the realtime scanner for pc-cillin. Dump them out. PC-cillin sucks your resources from the realtime scanner thats the difference you see from changing to AVG. If you try Solo from srnmicro.com it will free up about 3% more resources on boot from AVG... . If you have Windows Millennium then don't use pc-cillin it has issues with that OS. ... hope it helps.
