Hey, I think i have a virus. My computer keeps restarting itself without warning every so on. When i login to my computer after it reboots i get a message saying windows has recovered from a serious error. I am using the windows firewall with avast antivirus home edition. I don't have a software firewall. I have scanned with avast and it has found a few things.
totour.exe
winupd_KB11505076.exeBoth of these have been found in the windows\system32 folder. Is there anything i can do to clean my pc? everytime it reboots they re-appear. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks Matt

totur.exe is a Trojan so you could see if this freebie takes care of it:

KB11505076 looks like a windows update (or pretending to be) but are you certain you got the number right?
If you fix any nasties then flush your restore points.

I keep trying to reply to your message and my computer keeps re-booting so im using my server computer to post this. I ran a scan and some new files popped up.
INFECTED FILES IN SYSTEM32 DIR...

totour.exetheres a few more but i cant get a chance to write them down. I try but the pc keeps re-booting. There are files in the Temp folder, system32\drivers folder, system32 folder, temporary internet files even though i cleared that out, the files in temp i can't clear. There are 4 files that look like windows update files, winupd_KB*******.exe (computer didnt stay on long enough to retrieve numbers).
Would it just be easier to re-install a fresh copy of windows and download some decent security software?
Thanks

Is Safe Mode/Safe Mode w Networking available?
By default, XP may reboot on 'critical' errors - you might consider modifying that behaviour
I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.
