I ran this program from the internet but something wierd happend a soon as i clicked on the icon..a taskbar icon came up from and said my computer was infected with spyware, my norton anti virus catcher caught a bunch of trojans and my computer started makeing beeping sounds from the speakers, then this program called "Spy Sheriff" installed itself or something and my desktop wallpaper changed to a message saying i've been infected. I restarted my computer in safe mode and ran system restore, now everything seemes to be working fine...is there still anything i should worry about? like trojans? is my pc compromised to the point where i have to reinstall everything to avoid Identity theft or something like that?

SpySherrif is a rouge program

SpySheriff spysheriff.com
spy-sheriff.com
spyware-cash.com
antispynow.com aggressive advertising, reported stealth-installs (1, 2); false positives work as goad to purchase; inadequate scan reporting; same app as SpyDemolisher, SpyTrooper, & SpywareNo

SpywareBlaster
http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html
SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.

SpywareGuard
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html
SpywareGuard provides a real-time protection solution against spyware that is a great addition to SpywareBlaster's protection method. An anti-virus program scans files before you open them and prevents execution if a virus is detected - SpywareGuard does the same thing, but for spyware! And you can easily have an anti-virus program running alongside SpywareGuard.
Operates primarily using heuristics, and only very occasionally needs to updates some specific information for the things that they don't handle.
Just check every now and then for updates.

NEVER download or install spyware removers or any other software that you didn't hear about. Those most likely are corrupt and rogue products like SpySheriff, which is being promoted through adware and trojans that you have dealt with.

Every time you find a new anti-spyware please check that it is not on the following corrupt lists:

To remove it download smitRem.exe to your desktop. Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.(don't run it yet)

Download Ewido Security Suite then set it up this way Ewido Setup Instructions (don't run it yet)

Then download ccleaner to clean out all your temp files. Make sure there is not anything in the recycle bin that you need as ccleaner will delete recycle bin items unless checked not to do so.(don't run it yet)

Reboot into Safe Mode

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen. Your desktop and icons will disappear and then reappear again, this is normal.

Run Ewido

Run ccleaner

Go to start>control panel>display>desktop>customize desktop>web>delete everyting except"my current home page".

Then Run this free online scan from Panda

When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to the desktop, then copy/paste into the text editor and post it.
