Hi, I was deleting some virus files on my computer about 2 days ago because my computer didnt read the cd rom drive. Mistakingly i deleted some system files and now my computer wont fully start. it stops at the windows xp logo screen (the one with the light blue background and dark blue stripes on the top and bottom). I presse ctrl+alt+delete to get to the task manager than I ran command prompt, but from there I dont know what else to do. That was the farthest iv'e gotten so far. I even tried safe mode so I can at least do system recovery, but it does the same thing. I cant reboot through cd-rom either because the virus I was deleting I guess disabled it or something and its not showing up.

Insert your OS CD. Reboot the computer, booting to the CD. Then select the option to Repair Windows. Then, select the option to setup Windows. You can then run a Repair from that screen. >>The cd/dvd drive is does not work<< 1- Are you saying it doesn't play at all? 2- Have you tried booting into bios and selecting the CDROM INSTEAD of the HD as the 1st to boot?
